All you need to know

Bose QuietComfort 35 are made in a nice looking wireless design that comes in black and silver. The sound quality of these beauties gets a lot of positive response from reviews, and surely the sound quality is excellent. However, you can still find the same sound quality from headphones in a lower price range. The QC35 use the word "Comfort" for a reason; the headphones are very lightweight, flexible and made of a soft material which makes them comfortable to wear all day. Maybe you have noticed how many work offices supply a pair of Bose QC35 to their employees. That's because Bose QuietComfort 35 is extremely comfortable to wear and probably one of the few headphones in the world that people can wear comfortably for a whole day of work.

Further, the QuietComfort 35 has the best noise cancellation in the industry without a doubt. The noise cancellation makes sure that you can enjoy the silence and your music too without interruptions from noisy environments. The noise cancellation also makes it possible to take calls in windy weather and still be able to hear the person on the phone.

Bose QuietComfort is extremely user-friendly. They have a wireless battery life of 20 hours. You can stretch this to 40 hours if you use the included wire. However, you can always use the headphones wired even though the battery is dead. The active noise cancellation just won't be functional.
Overall, you'll get a high-quality pair of wireless headphones with the best noise cancellation worldwide, which is in itself worth the money.

Our final verdict

If you're looking for the best over-ear headphones on the market, don't think twice, the Bose QuietComfort 35 will satisfy your needs. They are particularly exceptional for traveling as they are very comfortable to wear and you won't be disturbed by outside noise. It's also just pleasurable to have a pair of headphones that are cord-free. One the last note, Bose QuietComfort 35 is without a doubt the best wireless over-ear headphones we have done a review of till now.

Full Review

First, I want to make sure that everyone understands our review. We're referring to the noise cancellation by typing NC. And as you may know, Bose QuietComfort 35 has a popular used shortcutted name; QC35. When that has been said, let us continue the review.

As you may already know, the new iPhone 7 has removed the headphone jack, which means that wireless headphones are more attractive than ever before. In this regard, we wanted to review one the most famous sports over-ear headphones in the industry – Bose QuietComfort 35 wireless.

Bose is known for being a high-quality brand with a respected and trusted reputation. Bose is setting the bar high by saying that the QuietComfort 35 headphones are: “Our best headphones yet.”

After testing the headphones, we understand the lack of humbleness.

Bose QuietComfort 35 is known for being a high-quality pair of wireless headphones. In that regard, I was excited to unbox the QC35 and check it out for myself. Are they that great?

First of all, you'll get your headphones in a beautifully designed box, where you just can slide out the box with all the equipment.

Inside of the box, you'll see the carrying case alongside with the instruction manual. The carrying case, as you can see in the picture, comes in a subtle black design with the Bose logo on it. The leather case feels very luxurious. Besides the detailed design and excellent material, the carrying case's primary purpose is to protect the wireless headphones, while you're traveling or on the run.

Inside of the carrying case, you'll find the wireless Bose QuietComfort 35, a travel adapter, a micro USB charging cable and the jack wire. Bose knows that many of the customers use the QC35 for traveling and therefore they have included a travel adapter, but more about the equipment later on in this review.

All the equipment are packed in a safe material to protect the headphones from getting damaged during shipping.

Unboxing the QC35 is joyful. All my expectations came true, and I did get the feeling of satisfaction about the purchase.

Sound quality

The sound quality of the QC35 is almost the same as the non-wireless QC25. It is usually better from non-wireless headphones than wireless headphones, so in that regard, Bose has done an excellent job. With the sound quality, it's often subjective what kind of sound people prefer. A quick view of the reviews from Amazon shows that people use the words such as good, great, terrific, etc. when describing the sound quality. Again it's subjective, but we think that the typical user of the QC35 will find the sound quality fulfilling their needs. Since the active NC keeps outside noise quiet, you can hear the deep bass and how clear the sounds are. The QC35 even gets a little bit better if you're using the headphones with the wire that comes with them.

However, we’ve listened to wireless headphones that have a greater bass such as Beats Solo 2. You can also find the same sound quality in a pair of headphones in a lower price range. The reason for this is that you also pay for the brand, but also for other features such as the comfort and the NC.

World-Class Noise Cancellation

Even though the design is straightforward and good looking, that’s not the reason why the Bose QuietComfort 35 is unique as a pair of wireless headphones. It’s the distinctive NC that makes these headphones unique. The NC function is what Bose has done better than all the competitors. There are microphones all around the outside of the headphones to pick up outside noises and frequencies and then cancel them. It keeps all the surrounding sounds out, and that equals your full attention to the music.

The QC35 is also ideal for calls. I find it a bit frustrating to take calls when I'm outside because it's challenging to hear anything if you're in a noisy or windy environment. But because the QC35 has a noise-rejecting dual-microphone system, you'll find no problems understanding what the person you're speaking with is saying. And that goes the other way around too.

This NC function is great when you're in loud environments. The QC35 is even so popular to use while traveling that Bose has made sure that there's an airplane adapter included in the purchase. The noise cancellation function is also beneficial if you're working out in one of those gyms that behaves like a nightclub. Personally, I hate when I'm at the gym and can't hear my music because of gym playing techno at max volume through the gym speakers. So even though the headphones are trendy to use for traveling, I'll also recommend to use them in the gym.

Bose has made an App called Bose Connection. This App gives you the freedom to control the headphones, most importantly the NC! Turn it up if you want more and also down if it's too much. However, lately there has been some speculations about the privacy of using this App. Read more about that here.

There's a reason why the Bose QuietComfort 35 has the word "Comfort" in the model's name. Bose has made a tremendous effort to make the QuietComfort 35 a high-quality headphone that feels comfortable to wear. It does so, because of the mix between the flexible design and a soft covering material. The flexible design makes sure that the wireless headphones won't put too much pressure towards your head. Like other overhead headphones, it's also possible to adjust them, so they fit your unique head shape. The material used in the headband and the ear cups makes the headphones feel, not just soft, but extremely comfortable.

Furthermore, the wireless design gives you that extra luxurious feeling since you'll get rid of the wire, which in my opinion can be annoying especially when I'm working out.

The Bose QuietComfort 35 cost around 50$ more than their previous model (Bose QuietComfort 25), but they're worth it. They have a stylish design that comes in two colors; black, silver. The design is as always an over-ear design, which means that the QC35 covers the ears completely. The QC35 looks almost like the previous QC25 model, but there are a few differences.

The headband now comes in a soft leather instead of fabric material. The new headphones are also a bit heavier than the previous ones. The new Bluetooth receiver and the powerful amplifier is the cause of this. However, the model is still lightweight in general. Bose has chosen to make the model in a flexible design which means that they won't break easily. For more safety, there is also a carrying case included. Fold the QC35 and put them in the case, which is great to have, especially when traveling.

The wireless headphones are very user-friendly and easy to use. Bose has made an integrated remote on the right ear cup with buttons to manage the headphones. From here it's possible to control the playback, adjust the volume and take calls. To use this function you just have to pair your phone and the wireless headphones through Bluetooth. The earphones also feature NFC pairing which makes it possible to quickly and easily connect the QC35 to your device, if your device supports it of course. We would still like to see Bose integrate something like Beats' W1 chip in their future headphones. Beats by Dr. Dre has the amazing W1 chip built into all their new headphones such as Beats Solo 3, Powerbeats 3 and BeatsX !

Ridiculously Battery life time

Bose QuietComfort 35 has up to 20 hours of battery life, which is a ridiculously high amount of wireless playback time. If you're using the included headphone jack, the battery time will double up to 40 hours of playback time. So you don't have to charge the headphones regularly, which is the case for some wireless headphones. Even if they run out of power, it’s still possible to use the headphones. However, the active NC won't work then.

The QC35 even has a function that helps you keep in mind when you have to charge the headphones. When you turn them on, you'll hear a voice that tells you the remaining battery percentage.

Value for money?

If we compare the QC25 and the QC35 the price is a bit lower for the QC25. The sound quality is almost the same, and the NC is excellent on both models.
In general, you will, of course, pay a lot of money for the QC35, but you'll also get a comfortable, high-quality built wireless headphones that contain the best NC on the market.

So the bottom line is that if you don't care about the inconvenience of having a pair of wireless headphones, then the QC25 is just fine. But if you do want a pair of wireless headphones with the best active NC on the planet, it's worth it to spend the extra money on the QC35.

Operation range of Bose QC35

Bose QC35 are as many other headphones nowadays wireless. With that being said, it's important that the operation range is big enough, so you don't have to be bother by the Bluetooth signal cutting off constantly. Bose has managed to give the QC35 an operation range of 30 feet (about 9 meters) which is pretty good. There shouldn't be any problems with that unless you live in a big house..
